Student Success Center
Are you a Community College student? Do you need help determining which classes to take or getting questions answered? If so, the Student Success Center is here to help! The Student Success Team staff is here to assist you so that you have a positive experience at the Community College of the District of Columbia.
The Student Success Center provides programs and services to students enrolled in the Community College of the District of Columbia. The Center offers academic advising to students who have not yet declared a major. In addition, the Student Success Center offers student success workshops to students throughout the year. The Student Success Team is committed to helping Community College students be successful in their educational pursuits.
For the 2009-2010 academic year, the Student Success Center will serve as the home of the Community College of the District of Columbia. This year will be a transition year for the College, as it prepares to establish a new physical location in the near future.. In the meantime, the staff of the Student Success Center is here to assist Community College students with any questions, problems or concerns they may have, and will provide programs and services to help students be successful.

Academic Advising
The Student Success Center provides academic advising to Community College students who have not yet declared a major. Please make an appointment or come into our office during walk-in hours to meet with a Student Success Specialist.
Students are encouraged to make an appointment to be seen by a Student Success Specialist or team member. Students may make appointments by

- emailing us at cc@udc.edu, or
- stopping into our office in Building 41, Suite A-01.
Please be ready to provide us with your full name, student ID number and the reason for your visit when making an appointment.
Spring 2010 Registration and Advising is happening now! Community College students with Undeclared Majors should stop by the Student Success Center in Building 41, Suite A-01 to be advised and to receive their PIN to be able to register for the Spring 2010 semester.
The Student Success Center will be open Monday – Thursday 8:30am – 7:30pm and Fridays 8:30am – 5:00pm during the month of November to assist Community College students with Undeclared Majors.
Additional Programs and Services
The Student Success Team engages in various programs and services in order to assist Community College students in their academic and educational pursuits.
- Early Alert Program
The Early Alert Program serves as an effective way to monitor students who are not succeeding in their courses and provide them assistance and potential interventions in order to be able to improve their level of academic achievement. The Student Success Team works collaboratively with faculty members to identify students who need some assistance, and then works with students individually to develop a plan for the student in order to be successful in their courses. - Food Drive

Building 41, Room A-01CCDC is participating in a food drive sponsored by the Washington City Paper to benefit Food & Friends! Help feed those in need during the holiday season by donating non-perishable items to Food & Friends. Bring your non-perishable items to the Student Success Center (Building 41, Room A-01) anytime between November 19 and December 18.
- Study Skills, Test Taking, and Overcoming Anxiety Workshop
December 2, 2009 and December 9, 2009, 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.

These academic success workshops will provide the tools and resources
necessary to overcome test anxiety. Students will also learn study and test taking skills to improve their scores on final exams.
